Friday 13 December 2013

It's Friday, which means only one thing: it's time to celebrate the small things with VikLit! This is a great opportunity to celebrate even the smallest of victories you may have achieved in the last week.

This week I'm celebrating submitting a short story for a competition.

I did submit one earlier in the year but this one feels different somehow. I really put the work into this one and feel like it's a positive step in a forward direction. I've been out of the writing loop for a bit and this has really helped to boost my enthusiasm for it.

Even if it doesn't get anywhere I have a completed story ready to be sent somewhere else, which is one of the bonuses of sending things to competitions I suppose. Each time I'm building my store of stories ready to go out into circulation.

I'm going to be making every effort to keep this up going into the new year now.

How about you? I hope you have something to celebrate this week.

  5. Excellent about the submission. Best of luck with that. I keep threatening to do this, and decided to work on writing shorts for an anthology next year. No pressure, just try a few horror shorts and see what happens.

    Enjoy the weekend X

  8. Congrats on your story submission--good luck!! I'm celebrating: 1.) living at the beach in California, 2.) finding out my tooth does not have to be pulled--it's a sinus infection!, and 3.) having my YA horror story, Death House, get accepted for publishing (woo hoo!), as well as having my short story, "Christmas After All" released in an anthology called A Touch of Winter. Happy Holidays!

  9. Great job on submitting. It has nothing but positive outcomes when we put ourselves, and our writing out there. I'm celebrating an empty inbox and a kitchen table cleaned and ready for dinner.

  13. Obviously huge Grats on the Story. Completing anything is worth a smile, completing a writing project is worth two or three. Glad you got back in the game. Keep hitting those keys.
