Prompt for December 10, 2014

Hello there! I hope you had fun with last week's blog hop. Here are the responses we received:

Ready for another writing adventure? Get your writing cap or hat on (if you're that type of writer), flex those fingers to get them warmed up, and away we go!

NEW PROMPT: Choose a prompt that you have not written on yet. Tena's list of past prompts can be found here.

Then, either a) turn it into a science fiction story or b) write a story with a very unexpected ending.
Keep it to 500 words or less, as usual, and please refer to the date of the prompt you've chosen (and include the photo(s) in your story plus 5 word prompts if applicable).

Thanks!

DATES TO REMEMBER:

December 17th - send the names of your favorite stories from the Blog Hop to Tena for the December 24 and December 31 editions.

January 7th - the regular Writer Wednesday Blog Hop returns with gusto. :)

Wednesday 3 December 2014

Something different for the WWBH!

It is the first Wednesday of December already (what!), and you can find my IWSG post for this month here.

The festive season is rapidly approaching, and although I'm far more organised than in previous years I still feel like I'm lagging behind with my plans.

For December, we are doing something slightly different with the WWBH. We know that this time of year is very busy, so we want to make this as simple and as fun as we can. I'll hand you over to our wonderful Debb who has all the details ...

our hops for the month of December

Hello all - Happy December! This new month brings us the holidays and also a different way to do our blog hop. Hang onto your hat -- and I'll tell you all about it!

All of December at the Writer Wednesday Blog Hop will feature past stories from our hops throughout 2014. You can find the stories by going to a blog hop hostess blog (click links at the bottom of this post) and search for "Writer Wednesday Blog Hop". Or, Tena has a neat page on her blog that chronicles the hops for this year: see it here:

How you can participate:

For the blog hops for December 24 and 31, we are looking to publish a list of your favorites (and ours) from the year. We encourage all our readers (whether with us a long time or brand new to our hop) to read through the stories and pick not one, but THREE of your favorite stories from the hop. :) (If time does not permit, because after all, it IS December, one favorite will do. It's just that we want a lot of choices in the hopper. :)) Send your favorites to: tenachannah@gmail.com.

Deadline for December 24 and 31: December 17.

WEEKS OF DECEMBER 3, 10, AND 17: Each week, Debb will not give a prompt(s), but rather a suggestion on what prompt to write about. Stay tuned for a fun challenge!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The prompt for this week is.....{drum roll} Read all the blog hop prompts for 2014. Write for a prompt that you always meant to but somehow just ran out of time. If you don't have one of those stories in the back of your mind, we ask you to pick one - any one - and stretch those muscles. :) Please don't forget to click on the blue froggy below so we can all be connected.
If you need some inspiration, or a bit of a nudge in the 'write' direction, here are the awesome stories that used last week's prompts:
 As usual, the same blog hop rules apply as for any other week.
NEW FEATURE FOR DECEMBER: If you feel inspired to write more than one story per week, we will not turn the extra stories away! For example, there are a number of prompts already on my mind that I wanted to write for but couldn't at the time. Now will be my chance to rectify that (hopefully).
Warmly, Debb Stanton
Falling off and on the writing wagon - an IWSG post
Insecure Writer's Support Group
Hello to everyone, on this last IWSG posting for 2014. Just where has the year gone? For me at least, the last six months have just flown by and I'm sad to say that it hasn't included much in the way of writing :-(
I've had a tough time the past few months, and I've been so far under the blogging radar that at times I've forgotten all about it. I've posted the odd couple of times, about my troubles and other issues, and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has replied in my hour of need. It's one of the best things about this community, having great people ready to help and offer the encouragement we often need.
As ever, the urge to write is there in my heart, but actually doing the writing has been coming in fits and starts. I've had far more dips than I'd like, but I'm still hanging on in there and I'm determined not to give up completely.
I've been doing a creative writing course with The Open University, and I was really surprised with my first assignment mark. It was much higher than I expected, and has made me wonder if I actually do have something to offer in the way of writing after all. I'm hanging on to this thought as I try and get myself better organised to move forward with my plans.
I'm looking forward to 2015 now, ready to make a fresh start with everything in my life and especially with my writing. I know I probably shouldn't need to wait until then to get myself sorted, but it's not far away now, and I've set myself that target to get mentally prepared.
I'm planning on revamping this blog a little, revitalising it to help me move into a new chapter with what I'm doing. I'm also going to establish a timetable for what I'm posting, to get myself into the regular habit of writing and posting.
I can start with the first IWSG post of the year, and use it to outline an achievable goal list to work through as the year progresses.
In the meantime, a big thank you to the whole of the IWSG team for making this another great year of support and encouragement. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and I'll see you all in the New Year, fresh and bright and ready to go!!!
