Balancing Act

Every now and again I find that I struggle with getting any kind of writing work done.
As well as writing I work four days a week, have OU study commitments, run around endlessly tidying up the house, organise my little one around nursery and grandparents houses and then have to find time to just sit and chill.
Now, I'm not the best when I have a lot on my dish and I do tend to get myself into a little bit of a tizz when I feel I can't quite cope.  Inevitably it is always the writing that suffers and gets pushed aside for all the other stuff.
It's very frustrating as that is just the thing that I enjoy the most and leaves me feeling chilled out.
It has been said more than once that I have an OCD problem, one which I'm really trying to overcome, but is it really that bad that I like the house to be tidy before I can sit down to concentrate on anything?
The answer to this question is most definitely yes.  It is bad because tidying is a constant which takes too much precedence over everything else.
I've lost count of the different tactics I've tried to get myself organised and cope with everything.  I've come to the conclusion however, that I just cannot do everything, no matter how wonderful I think I am.  So I'm really going to try and do the things that I enjoy and give only the most necessary time to essential tasks.  After all, life's way too short to spend the whole of it cleaning!

  1. Heather, I have passed on the Liebster Blog Award to you. Please see my blog for more info. I hope you don't mind. :)

OCD? I am too. I simply CANNOT sit down to write in a messy house. I have to tidy up first. ...just saying. :)
