Friday Celebrations, but on Saturday. Oops!

                   *****************************************

This post is part of the 'Celebrate the Small Things' blog hop hosted by VikLit, and is for celebrating even the smallest of victories during the week. Head on over to her blog to check out more people taking part in this hop, and to sign up yourself too.

It's been manic this week. Being back at work after two weeks off was always going to be tough, but by the end of it I felt well and truly shattered.

Being at work wasn't too bad in itself, but it took up all the time that I'd previously been using for reading, writing and blogging. Now I've got to go back to doing it in the evenings, when there's far less time. If only I could work from home ...

As a consequence, this post is late, I missed my What's Up Wednesday completely and I've been in danger in getting behind in my reading. Oh, and there's the small matter of over 150 blog posts to catch up on. Guess what I'm doing this weekend!

Anyway, to the celebrations:

  • Getting as many of my blog posts up as I did, and more or less on time. I started my new Book Thoughts on Thursday, which I've wanted to do for a long time. I'm hoping it will help keep my reading going.
  • I got my contribution to the inaugural edition of Write ... Edit ... Publish done,  which you can check out here. I almost didn't make this and it went up very late on Friday. It's very rough really, and I wish I'd started it earlier and done a better job. Still, it's up and I'd love to know your thoughts on it. Feedback is always valued.
  • I'm very excited about some of the blog hops and tours coming up in the next couple of months. I'm helping out on a couple of tours and it's been great this week to be working with the writers involved to get things ready. You gals know who you are, thanks for having me on board!

I'm also glad to have made it to the weekend in one piece, phew!

How about you? How has your week been?

  1. I've had weeks like this, they're awful! Congrats for getting some posts up, and don't worry about the one you missed :)

    1. Thanks Laura. I'm getting better at letting things go when I miss them. I used to feel guilty for about a week and worry that I wasn't succeeding. I realise now how daft that is, and I'm just happy doing what I can.

  2. I hand it to anyone who does this. And I appreciate just how much time it takes to do it well. Congratulations. Here's to your next hop or tour!

    1. Thanks for the comment. All these hops and tours are certainly helping me to hone my organisational skills. I just need to remember to take a break every now and again.

  4. I remember a very busy 7 days in a row where I didn't get to just stay home and chill for ANY of those nights (after working during the day naturally). It was horrible and I never want to repeat it!

    1. We all need to take some time out for ourselves every couple of days. Seven days of constant socialising is so draining, I like being unsociable every now and again.

  5. Glad you survived your busy week. Hope you're relaxing this weekend. I'm about to go out and do some yard work! That's my thrill for today. :)

  6. Yeah, miss a couple of days of blogging, and the sites just stack up! Luckily this is such a great group of folks, they totally understand if you miss for a while. Life just gets in the way sometimes.... Oh how I dream of retirement! :)

I was thinking of doing WEP, but it's one of those things that I've learned I just don't have time for right now. Maybe sometime down the line. Good luck to everyone doing it.

    1. Thanks Nancy, this really is a great group to be a part of. We're all in pretty much the same boat so it's fine if we have a slack period.

I've checked out your Facebook page :-)
