Ninja Captain's Genre Blogfest!

Today is a blogfest all about genre, all you have to do is say what your favourite genre is for:

Movies
Music
Books
A guilty pleasure genre from any of the the three above.

Oh, and don't forget to head over to Alex J Cavanaugh's to link up and check out everyone else's favourites too!

So, my favorite movie genre:

Definitely science fiction/fantasy.
I've always loved being whisked off to weird and wonderful places, inspires me to come up with my own.  Back to the Future is a firm favourite, and I was so happy when my daughter asked me to put it on.  Her dad was so pleased!

Music genre:

Rock music.  My musical taste is quite eclectic, but rock reigns supreme on my iPod.  I've been in love with Jon Bon Jovi since I was about 12.

Books:

Horror is right at the top.  Stephen King is my overall favourite, but I'm quite happy with Shaun Hutson or James Herbert.  It'd make my life if I wrote something and Stephen King said he liked it.

My guilty pleasure?  I'm afraid to say that my guilty pleasure is definitely Shakin' Stevens while I'm doing the housework.  I'm only allowed to listen to it with headphones or in my car though!

  3. Back to the Future is one of those movies I watch sometimes when it's on. When the TV is kinda in the background and you're half paying attention. A classic!

    1. It's perfect for that. I've watched it so many times I can come in at any point and still enjoy it.

  8. I thought Jon Bon Jovi was cool when I was a teenager in the eighties. I would agree with Nancy - he looks better now!

  9. My husband wishes I would restrict my guilty pleasure to headphones or the car (when he's not in it of course). Nice to meet you.

  10. I love Back to the Future! I still laugh every time I see the scene where Marty's young dad asks for a chocolate milk at the bar.

    1. It is one of the best. Now I must make like a tree, and get out of here!

  11. I quote Back to the Future on almost a daily basis.

I'm not much of a horror fan but I did like Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

  12. Hi, Heather. I'm afraid I am unfamiliar with this Shakin' Stevens guy. Should I investigate this further? :) I'm guessing not.
I loved the rock music and Stephen King mentions.
Sorry it's taking me so long to get through this list. Darn day jobs! *waves*

  13. I went through a period where I read nothing but Stephen King for weeks. I got over it but I still check out his new stuff eventually.
