Celebrating the small things - 19th July 2013

                   *****************************************

This post is part of the 'Celebrate the Small Things' blog hop hosted by VikLit, and is for celebrating even the smallest of victories during the week. Head on over to her blog to check out more people taking part in this hop, and to sign up yourself too.

This week I'm celebrating:

  • I've just given a 30min presentation to my  work colleagues so right now I'm celebrating that it's over! I don't worry too much about talking in front of people but if I can get away with not doing it, I'm happier.
  • I've passed my level 1 OU course. I had to resit the final assessment as I failed the first time. Only by two marks though, and it was due right around the time of our wedding so I had a lot on. Anyway, it's done now and I've passed!
  • Getting to 6500 words on my NaNo project. I can't remember the last time I wrote so many words on a particular project. Just need to keep going now.

How has your week been? Is the sun still shining?

    1. I find the build up is the worst thing, once I'm there doing it the nerves lessen. I'd still rather not do it at all though!

  2. I hate talking in front of people, too, and I avoid it at all costs. So if I had had to do a 30 minute presentation (or even a 30 second presentation), I'd be celebrating big time.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. I'm very glad it's over, I must say. I much prefer writing to talking.

    1. Thanks Lara. I'm worrying less about my overall word count now, breaking my goals down into smaller chunks. If I can manage 1000 words in each writing session I'll be happy.

    1. Thanks S.K., I was relieved with the result. Even if I feel things go alright, I still worry about the result.
I'm pleased with my NaNo count too, I'm persevering with it.

  5. HURRAH to pass level 1 and to doing your talk! I don't like that either so I'd be relieved too!

    1. Hurrah indeed. Just need my level 2 result now and I can properly relax.

  6. Good on you for getting through your talk. I'm horrible at public speaking so I'm extra impressed!

    1. Thanks, Kate. I don't know if it's better or not to talk in front of people I know. I don't fancy talking in front of strangers to make the comparison though!

  10. I know what you mean about talking in front of people. I'll do it but I'd rather not do it. So yay that you got through it and didn't run away :)

    1. I had thought of running away. Or just calling in sick. I'm glad I got through it though, I won't need to do another one for at least a year, woohoo!
